Award Ceremony of the Green Media Product Competition in 2026
On October 2, 2026. Lao Journalists’ Association and CARE Laos held the Green Media Product Competition Award Ceremony under the GAMCIL project in the theme of “Your Voice for Nature”.


The ceremony was co-chaired by Mr. Vansy Kuamua, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Training Board; Mr. Mark Gallagher, Ambassador of the European Union to Lao PDR; Mr. Savankhone Razmountry, President of the Lao Journalists’ Association; Ms. Keoamphone Souvannaphoum, Country Director of CARE International in Lao PDR and more than 60 representatives from partner organizations, project coordinators, committee members, and participants—including state journalists, mass organizations and CSO, and citizen journalist attended the event.


The objectives of the event were to praise and recognize the media production achievements of Lao journalists, civil society organizations, and general online users who produced media content reporting on green issues, to demonstrate the achievements and contributions of the GAMCIL project in strengthening media capabilities for Lao journalists, CSOs, and citizen journalist, and to disseminate the works of project participants regarding green issues.
The journalism contest awarded winners, runners-up, and honorable mentions across 12 entries in the News Poster and News Video categories, divided into two groups: state journalists, and Civil Society Organizations / citizen journalist.


1. State journalists
Winner News video category: Mr. Hatsady Souldavong, Attapeu Provincial Radio-Television.
News poster category: Ms. Vandaphone Chuenphan, Champasak Provincial Propaganda and Training Board (Provincial Television)
2. Citizen journalist & CSO
Winner News video category: Mr. Chanthavisouk Phonemany, National University of Laos
News poster category: Mr. Phetlakhone Norbupphasavanh, Savannakhet University


The winners and outstanding news poster and video categories will participate in a study tour and knowledge-exchange trip on green issue reporting in Thailand this year.
