Study Tour Equipping Journalist in Khammouane Province

On July 6–8, 2026, the Lao Journalists’ Association and CARE International in Laos led media professionals from four southern, two central provinces, and general online content creators—on a field study visit to learn about community-based ecotourism through the sustainable development plan of the Nam Theun 2 Power Company (NTPC).

During the visit, they interviewed business operators involved in environmental protection, observed community dried fish production, visited the Nakai-Nam Theun National Park Information Center and an educational center providing local student scholarships, and toured the Nam Theun 2 hydroelectric power plant.

This was a highly valuable and beneficial study trip for media practitioners, enhancing their ability to produce news reports focused on green development and community involvement in environmental conservation.
